Tell us four things
It saves a round trip if the first message includes them.
- The email address on your account, or the name Apple or Google returned when you signed in.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- The book and the language level, when the problem is about content.
- Your phone model, and its iOS or Android version.
Things that go wrong most often
I paid, and Knowingo Reading is still closed
Open the account page and use Restore purchases. Knowingo Reading opens only after Apple or Google Play confirms the transaction and our server verifies it, so a moment of network trouble can leave the two out of step. On Android, make sure the phone is signed in to the Google account that made the purchase. If restoring does not fix it, write to us with the date of purchase.
My library is empty
The library only shows books that are published in your chosen book language. Change the book language in the account page, or use the temporary language filter in the library to see what exists elsewhere. An empty library, a failed load and a permission problem are shown as three different states on purpose, so tell us which one you saw.
I want to cancel Knowingo Reading
Cancel it where you bought it. On iPhone, cancel it in your Apple account settings, under Subscriptions. On Android, open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and cancel Knowingo Reading there. We cannot cancel either for you, because Apple and Google hold those billing relationships. A subscription bought on the web is cancelled from the account page at read.knowingo.online. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running to the end of the period you paid for.
I want a refund
For a subscription bought on iPhone, refunds go through Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. For one bought on Android, refunds go through Google Play, under Google Play's refund policy. When Apple or Google tells us a purchase was refunded, your subscription ends, and a refunded Google Play subscription stops renewing.
A summary looks wrong
Tell us the book, the part, and the sentence. Fidelity is checked by an automated gate before publication, and a report that gets past it is worth more to us than a feature request.
Deleting your Knowingo account
Knowingo is made by Semantig Tech Pte. Ltd. You can delete your Knowingo account in any of three ways.
- In the app, on iPhone or Android. Open Settings from the Me tab, choose Delete account at the bottom, and confirm. The account is deleted at once.
- On the web. Sign in at read.knowingo.online, open Settings from Me, and choose Delete account.
- By email. Write to semantigai@gmail.com from the address on the account and ask for deletion.
Deleting removes your account record, your reading position and completed parts, highlights, XP, language settings, reading time, reviews, helpful marks and reports, activity records, and the stored records of your subscriptions. A subscription bought on the web is cancelled as part of the deletion. Deletion cannot be undone.
Some records stay by design, without your account: the order IDs of refunded Google Play purchases, so that each refund is still honoured, the payment records Stripe keeps for accounting, and the questions asked of a book, which were never stored with an account. The privacy policy has the detail.
Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription. Cancel it first, as described above, then delete the account.
Where to read
Knowingo on Android
Knowingo is on Google Play. Sign in with Google, with Apple or with your email address, using the same account as on iPhone or the web. An account holds one session at a time, so signing in on Android signs your other device out.
Reading on the web
Sign in at read.knowingo.online with the account you use in the app. An account holds one session at a time, so signing in on the web signs the phone out, and the reverse.
Not yet available
iPad layouts, audio narration and downloads for long term offline reading are not in the first version. Asking for them is useful. It is how the order gets decided.
