What Knowingo is
Knowingo is an iPhone app that publishes original summaries of published books. A summary is our own writing about a book. It is not the book, it is not an extract of the book, and it does not replace buying the book.
Your account
You sign in with Apple. You are responsible for the Apple account you sign in with. One account is for one person. Do not share credentials, and do not try to reach content your account has not been given.
What you may do
Read, highlight and quote briefly with attribution to Knowingo and to the book. What you may not do: copy summaries in bulk, republish them, sell them, feed them into a product that competes with this one, or use automated tools to download the catalogue.
Subscriptions
- Premium is sold through the App Store, monthly or yearly. The price shown in the app at the moment of purchase is the price that applies.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Renewal is charged to your Apple account within 24 hours before the new period starts.
- Manage and cancel in your Apple account settings. We cannot cancel it for you, because Apple holds the billing relationship.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policy. When Apple tells us a purchase was refunded, Premium access ends.
What we publish, and what we cannot promise
Summaries pass an automated fidelity check before publication, and a draft that fails does not reach readers. That is a real gate and we describe it honestly, but it is not a promise that every sentence is free of error. Nothing here is professional, financial, legal or medical advice. Read the book before you act on the book.
The catalogue changes
Titles can be added or withdrawn, including for rights reasons. Premium is access to what is published while your subscription runs, rather than a permanent licence to a particular title.
Suspension
We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, that abuses the service, or that we are required to suspend. When an account is suspended, protected content closes immediately. Write to us if you believe it was a mistake.
No warranty, and limits
The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that it is available without interruption or free of faults. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Singapore, where Semantig Tech Pte. Ltd. is established, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them. Continuing to use the app after a change means the new terms apply.
